Funds that are closing down or merging

13 of the 361 U.S. closed-end funds we cover are closing down, being folded into another fund, or no longer trade.

Each fund's page says what happens to your shares and when. For a fund that is closing or merging there is usually nothing you need to do: your shares become shares of the other fund, or the cash comes to your account through your broker. If a fund you hold no longer trades, ask your broker.

The fund's own documents may call this a "liquidation" or a "merger".
